As specialists in the Interoperability domain, Control 2K has brought our knowledge of industrial Control Systems and Automation into the research fields of Data Governance and Exchange, Digital Manufacturing and Industry 4.0 and helped to shape the future of the industry; supported by our partnerships across the European region.
Technologies and Research Areas
Our specialist product portfolio has been forged through 20 years of participation in UK and European Manufacturing Research programmes, each one seeking to develop World-class technology solutions to meet the challenges of the manufacturing industry.
We are a small Welsh company with big reach - together with our partners across the World, we have developed and brought to market a platform which will enable interoperability across all sectors and
vendors
We offer expertise in the areas of:
Research Facilities
Our purpose-built facilities include an industrial training centre with live manufacturing equipment, including a comprehensive range of robotic systems (ABB, Inovo, Universal Robot), vision systems (Zebra Aurora, Basler) and a wide range of PLCs (Siemens, Beckhoff, Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley, Rockwell, Omron, Schneider) and manufacturing process equipment.
Interoperability and Data Exchange
Systems design is at the core of our business and often the foundations for any new research proposal. Overcoming the barriers between data platforms and information systems is our key area and we are able to dramatically improve the success of any industrial research project using our tried and tested software products. As your research partners, we are able to make these available to you under a research licence.
Horizon Europe
Control 2K is a significant player in the European research community and has participated in programmes from 2013 – 2023 as Coordinators, Work Package Leaders, Collaborators and SME Use-case providers. We are a key member of the UK Pole for Interop-VLAB and ready to engage with proposal development activities.
UKRI
Our UK based research community has resulted in our participation in a number of ATI, Made Smarter and Innovate UK funded projects across the Aerospace and Automotive domain. We are keen to collaborate with UK partners to develop new products and services for the manufacturing community and welcome invitations to join new and existing collaboration projects.
